Sims 2 Castaway for mobile - Review
April 15th, 2008 | by codetiger |Sims 2 Castaway is really addictive for strategy game lovers and bit boring for casual game lovers. The game was realistic most of the time, especially the goals like collecting food and shelter to live. But at times, the game seems funny when we have to shake a coconut tree to make the banana’s fall from it. The whole game was simple and easy for a hardcore gamer, and had only very few challenges.
Things that make the game really interesting are, the need for searching different things in the island, Small games we will have to play with other castaways to get something from them, and upgrading our house.
Yellow-tailed fish in Sims 2 Castaway
The few challenges I was speaking about are finding the yellow-tailed fish to cook Fish stew for Crazy Carl. You will not find yellow-tailed fish anywhere in the day, you will have to go to the beach at night to find some yellow-tailed fishes. Another thing that is challenging is playing with surfing board. The game needs some practice to win as it needs fast key pressing.
The whole game can be charted as every goal is interlinked to the other. You have to finish one goal to move to the other. Only if you finish first goal you will be able to know what the second one is. And completing every goal will need to win a small game with one character. The coolest thing with the game is, the developer (G5) has made the game such that you’ll get atleast a small clue of that to do next before you reach your patience limit and get bored. So the game keeps you engaged most of the time.
Amazing Graphics
G5 has proved another time with its amazing graphics and small effects that makes the game more realistic. Every place is unique and has different objects within the screen. First thing I would like to speak about is the water falls.
You need to build your shelter from scratch which is obvious in reality when you are in a lonely island. I somehow managed to build my house with all unreadable items and it looks like this.
Another amazing graphics work is the beach.
Key usage is really simple throughout the game and makes it simple to learn the game. It took only around 5 mins before I got addicted. There are 37 goals to be completed and took me 2 days to complete.
Another thing that I found to be funny in the game is the question after you complete all the goals, “Do you really want to leave the island or stay here”. I feel this question to be meaningless when all the goals that I completed were to leave the island and why would someone want to still stay there. ![]()
