Can Mobile Phones replace your laptop

Mobile phones have become a part of everyone’s life nowadays. And most people dont use it for phone calls alone. With mobile phones getting better and better, people are trying to use it instead of laptops and computers. For the past few days when I was away from office, I though this time I should keep myself away from laptops and PC and spend good time with my parents and relatives. And yes I did so, but every one has some commitments and have to reply to emails and keep yourself up-to-date with whatz happening in your arena. Yes, I managed(kinda struggled) to use my mobile phone (Nokia N70). Though I struggled to keep me in track, it was good fun and amazing that I had good restrictions so that I was forced to spend time with my family. Now the answer I would say is "May be yes, but only for a few days"
Email - The ultimate reason, everyone is scared to keep themselves away from PC for more than 2 days. If you are somehow related to technology or computers you will definitely have this fever, no doubt. If you have to live only with your mobile, then there are tonnes of applications for mobile phone that can access your mail box and bring it on to mobile. Few application I used these days were Morange and Symbian builtin mail box. The best one for my taste is Morange. Gmail application is another good one. You can forward your emails to your gmail account and user your simple and powerful gmail client for mobile.
Organizer/Calendar - These are something that every mobile released nowadays have and its made more easy than using it in a PC. I feel comfortable keeping contacts and to-dos on my mobile than my laptop. This is because mobile had become a part of my life and I almost keep it with me where ever I go, other than my bathroom. Yes, I am true. I do.
Internet - If you are in a hurry to access some website or feel like search something on the web, then there is Opera Mini. I just love this software that made my life much much more easier than it was. If Nokia N70 was not able to run Opera, then I would called it a waste for money. But thank God, Opera guys ported their browser to every new mobile phone in the market and the best part is they made it free.
Instant connectivity - Nowadays, other than email, one other thing that I cannot keep away from is instant messengers. As I have to report to my clients in time, I have to be online in atleast 3 messengers, Skype, MSN and Gtalk. Though I use Gtalk only wiht my friends, the other 2 are like the kernal for an OS. My business mostly runs through these instant messengers. And if I am away for more than 4 days without informing my clients then few people call me if I am there or ran away with their money. So they atleast have to see me online as a sign of trust in business. Now, what I did with my N70 was installed Fring and Morange for keeping my status online. And the best one for IM is Fring coz it is simple and can stay in background.
Feed Reader - You have a lot of applications that can can as a feed reader. Some manufactures now have this functionality inbuilt in their devices. The best one that was promising was again morange. Seems to be simple and good enough.
Now, what would be your answer for this question and if at all you have any other fever other than the things listed here please do post here.

Good points raised .. however my points are covered in the article i posted long time back,

wow, Nice post Kanak,
My post was all about my experience in past 5 days when I was away from office.
does that mean staying without computer makes you feel handicapped … For me the situation is away from my mobile makes me feel handicapped…:D … hey add me on gtalk … add a dot between my name concatenated with gmail dot com. .:D..
Yes, I feel like 40% handicapped if I dont have a pc around and 80% when I dont have my mobile.
Just added you in Gtalk …
excited to see whats our first chat on.
Yes, if I got the iPhone 16GB, because its a smooth gadgets pack with all you need…
Thanks for the tip, unfortunatly iPhone is not released officially in my place.
@codetiger,
You need to use it to believe it .. its just as amazing as anyone can think of …
No wonder iphone is selling like crazy , I am planning to buy the 3g iphone which is slated to release soon
@Kanak
yes, I got taken away by the phone. anyway here in India it cannot be used as you say. Seems the phone gets locked when used with itunes software. So probably I am put to wait until the original phone gets released here in India.
hey thats a myth, Iphone never gets locked when used with Itunes, only when you upgrade it , it gets locked. However, my friend bought iphone with the initial firmware. He got hands to some software which can unlock it .. so now from 1.0.0.X firmware he has now upgraded to 1.1.4 … which is the lates firmware. .
@Kanak
my firend’s office has an iphone for testing it seems. He said it got locked when they tried to install a software with itunes, and they had to downgrade the software again to make it work again. Anyway, I dont have any idea on this.
@kanak
