Of course there is not a single word officially from Opera about their next browser, but this would be a list of what we would expect on a mobile as a browser from opera. Now that we already have a decent one with Opera mini 4, but giving a thought about the future is always fun and excitement.

So how far are we from Opera Mini 5? Opera should be thinking of a much high featured challenges than giving it another try with few more simple additions. So, may be we can expect our Opera Mini 5 by the early second half of 2008. And they should be releasing betas well before that as usual.

When we think about features,

1) Tabbed Browser: Opera will definitely be thinking about tabbed browser which is a real challenge for many phones. But atleast for latest phones which can really use a browser, like Symbian devices, will have tabbed browser. As of now, there is no way someone can work on 2 websites side by side on a phone. Even when we have Opera browser for mobile which was recently released with tabbed browser, what we are speaking about here is a completely different market which loves Opera Mini series. Today, I personally can say Opera is the best and only good reachable browser for my mobile phone. Otherwise, we should be scratching our head with the basic native browser. Soon, mobile manufacturers or OS companies will include Opera browser with their OS as a component.

2) Ajax and Flash: I heard some rumours saying Opera is speaking with Adobe for integrating flash in their browser. I am not sure if its an old news, but I think flash will be a good addition with a browser. User will be able to play games, interact with a website, have cool animations, and lot more. When we say flash or ajax, just imagine how much it means.

3) Media publishing: Audio, Video, and high quality images. I know its little bit complex for audio video streaming into mobile browser, but its lot more fun.

4) Speed: We expect these features and that too at a very high speed. Opera has proved it already in Opera Mini 4, but still looking for good optimizations.
