2G phones at Japanese museum

Japan becomes the second country to put 2G phones in their museum following the South Koreans. January 2008 was a special month in Japan where not a single 2g phone was sold out. When many countries are struggling to bring 3G into their territory South Korea and Japan have proved their technology updates with this report. While few countries with larger customer base are still planning to bring in 3G, plans for making a complete 3G nation is something amazing.
Another report says 60 percent of the phones sold out in 2008 in Japan support digital television broadcasts. These devices allow the user to watch television channels for several hours without recharging their batteries. One exciting fact is that many networks offer this service free of cost.

great news … I wonder when 3g will enter India though. Along with technology growth, it also signifies the rise in purchasing power of people in Japan. 3g phone cost high than 2g phones and also great to see that Japanese doesnt want phones which can be used only for talking … they want more …
@Kanak,
Seems, there are lots of Techfreaks out there in Japan.
Yes, that is what I was wondering how people there are ready to spend for technology. Here in India, most people don’t even see the technology behind it, their first factor will be the price.
