Android another heaven for income, If I were the Chief at Google

Now, almost every developer who are someway connected to mobile phone platform is wondering why Google came up with a new platform Android when there are already lots of messy standards in the market and not a single manufacturer yet has said that their device supports a standard 100%. I was wondering if Google is thinking out of the box and of course as usual. Then I started to imagine myself as the chief for Android platform team at Google and starting thinking what would be my plans to bring Android the best among the other platforms while many others like SavaJe have not stood their ground.

logo_android  Android would be more an operating system than just a platform/standard like J2ME. This OS will be highly integrated with the basic features like SMS, MMS and phone calls. Now that the first question from my boss would be how will I make the mobile manufacturers buy this OS. Or what would be the marketing strategy to promote this OS. Here comes my master plan.

Now the OS will have various features where the user can integrate with Google’s services. The user will have to give in his Google id to start the phone. Then he’ll be able to see the the Gcalendar, Gmail, Gmaps, Gfinance, Gsearch, Gnews, Gvideos, Gnotebook, Blogger, Docs, Ggroups, orkut, picasa, Gtalk and many more Google services free. Users will be able to open his Google calendar and do alterations and save it to the server. Now this will make users closely stick with their Google’s features when they are on the move. Any changes on the phone will reflect on the Google server so that the OS will be just an other interface for Google’s services.

I know my boss will now ask why invest billions on OS when we can make the same on any other OS by just developing a single application like “Yahoo Go!”. Now that here comes the actual answer. I am making these services closely integrated with the OS and now what. :) Google’s contextual ads. The phone will be capturing your texts and showing up ads in the bottom or top contextual to what they type or what they search. Now the strategy is that Google will allow service providers to include their publisher id so that they get the credits for the ads displayed on their customer’s phone.

Now that’s a good money for the service providers. And my boss will ask why will a user like a phone will all these services? Hmmm… that a good question, yes. User will be able to send free SMS, MMS, or connect to the Internet free and find the nearest place for their needs in Google local search. They will be using a Gmap which will show their location. The phone will show the happenings nearby their location may be as a ticker. Now the user has all basic services for his phone with Internet connectivity, GPS everything free and why will a user not like it. May be Google will make their OS free to bring down the cost of the phone. The phone will also support the other standards, J2ME for you to run games or other applications. The user has all the same features on any phone and that too cheap. Another advantage is that the user can log on to any other phone to download all his settings and personal information if he looses his phone. And his information is still secure as no one else will be allowed to use the lost phone without a (Google)password.

Now tell me, will my Boss praise me? or ??
